Smart boards

I think smart boards are a good idea to incorporate in the classroom. They have so many features available to enhance education in the classroom. Some educators fear the smart board because they are so use to the regular chalk board. Change is good and always open the door to new things that are helpful. The smart board allows educators to do things that a regular chalk board can not do. I feel that as long as educators are schooled on how to use the smart board they would do just fine.

Reading

I think reading is something that is very important and should be enforced in the students household, school, and church. Reading is a skill you use everyday of your life. If you can not read it would be a struggle for you to perform normal tasks in life from cooking to balancing your check book. I think students should be able to read before entering the classroom. Reading is a skill that parents should provide to their children at a young age. Reading skills are just not educator job to give the students but also the parents. I would have my students reading at least three books a day and writing a summary about the book and how they felt about it. READING IS AN IMPORTANT SKILL!!!!

Skypeing

Skypeing is a good idea for students also. One activity that comes to my mind is getting my students to learn about different cultures through skype. The students would find a student on their same grade level and age group. Then they will skpe the student two days out of the week and learn something about their daily living. I would also like them to learn about that students culture and famous family dishes. The students will them present them to the class and myself. I think this would be a good way to encourage the students and allow them to learn diversity.

Blogging

As a future educator blogging in the classroom is a good idea. Blogging allows the students to be able to communicate with students all over the U.S. right in the comfort of their own classroom. Blogging also allow students to think outside the box and be creative with their thoughts and opinions. Blogging could also be helpful to those students who are out sick and can not make it to class. The homework assignments and up coming tests will always be posted and available.

Technology in the classroom

Technology in the classroom is a good idea as long as the educator now how to use it. We have some parents that just feeling like technology handicaps their children. It is all about self control and discipline. Technology can be helpful in the classroom by providing pictures about a topic to demonstrate how it looks to those students that do not know. Computers also allows the educator and students to communicate with citizens all over the U.S. in the classroom. The parents also have to inform their children their limit on the computers.

About Me...

My name Jessica Washington and I am a future educator in the public school system. I think education is very important and should be taken seriously. Everyone should have a shot at it and have someone to encourage them along the way. I will be that teacher that cares about how my students succeed in their future endeavors. The class should have discipline, education floating all around, and fun at the same time. In the school systems in today's society we have educators that are just there for the pay check and really do not care about the students. IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!!! I will be the teacher that make that change and praise my students work!!!!! I am so excited to see how my first year goes.
